Different Types of Pallets
- 2 way pallets – Two-way pallets have solid stringers with no notches. This means that forklift tines cannot enter the pallet through the sides.
- 4 way pallets – Pallets with four-way notched stringer or foundation blocks may be lifted from any side. These pallets are usually heavier, larger, and more durable than two-way pallets.
- Block Pallets – A block pallet is sometimes known as a “four-way” pallet since the tines of a pallet jack or forklift can access and lift it from all four sides. The block pallet has square blocks instead of full length stringers. Block pallets may be built with or without bottom deckboards.
- Reversible Pallets – A reversible pallet is one with identical top and bottom deck boards. Some pallets have an identical arrangement of top and bottom deckboards, making them reversible pallets.
